Simply put, the Peter Pan syndrome refers to a state where a man fails to grow into adult life and keeps exhibiting child-like behaviours such as failure to take on responsibility or not owning up to their actions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a society that cherishes hard work and individual responsibility, this is not a morally acceptable alternative and if the father does not act, by chastising and disciplining his son properly, and put limit on the voluntary irrational adolescent expression of his son\u2019s being he would have created a recipe for disaster. Failure to do so, he merely lets his son remain Peter Pan, the eternal Boy, King of the Lost Boys, Ruler of the non-existent utopia Neverland.This is an act that obviously interferes with the son\u2019s freedom but in the long run will force him to take his place as a socialized acceptable member of the world because as much as many hate to accept this, it takes a man to raise a man out of a boy because manhood is deeper than a course unit taught in a university lecture room, it\u2019s a compilation of life experiences. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Let\u2019s shelf off this \u201cPeter Pan Syndrome\u201d and \u201cBoy Crisis\u201d debate with TV Host and American Author quote Dr. James Dobson \u201cMothers raise boys; fathers raise men.
